It is worth discussing and planning this as early as possible so you can confirm pay arrangements before you take any KiT / SPLiT days
3 months before your RTW
Apply for LTFT training if you are planning to go LTFT for the first time or if you are planning to change your LTFT %
12-16 weeks before your RTW
Meet with your supervisor to plan your RTW including the need for any adjustments for example:
A supernumerary period on the rota
A period off on calls
If you are planning to access / or have accessed the SuppoRRT fund, complete a Pre-Return Form
ASAP, latest by 4 weeks before
Ideally 8-12 weeks before your RTW
Inform you TPD and college tutors of your RTW date
Inform your department rota coordinator and admin teams
By 4-8 weeks before the end of parental leave
Confirm the end date of your parental leave
Remember this is the time before the end of your parental leave, not your return to work date as this will this be after you take your accrued annual leave
If you are covered by the NHS scheme: 28 days notice is required for change your maternity leave end
If you are on SPL: 8 weeks notice is needed to change your SPL end date
If you are not covered by the NHS scheme and are taking statutory leave: 8 weeks notice is needed
Before you RTW
Arrange a risk assessment before you return to work if you are breastfeeding
This allows adjustments to your work and working pattern to be planned if required

Just before you RTW
